Everbody knows who Russell Peters is.

 

As far as stand-up comedy is concerned, Russell Peters is the best of all comedians. If anyone asks me who my favorite is, I most definitely would say Russell Peters.

 

That’s mainly because … Russell Peters is the only stand-up comedian that I know. Yes, I need more humour in my life.

 

So when Josh called me and told me about Comedy Club in Zouk last Friday, that was it. I will get more humour in my life!

 

This is my kiamchai brochure. It looked a lot nicer before I stuffed it into my pocket.

 

Featuring Hong Le from Vietnam, Greg Fleet from Ozzy and our very own Douglas Lim!

 

And this is what I shared with EGo for a bite : a starter called 3some. Little did we know that it would become our dinner…cos the show was delayed by an hour and adjourned for more partying without eating anything else. Char dou!

 

 

Psychkin, Ego, Michelle Perfectionista and me can’t wait to laugh our stressed-up asses off!

 

And for reasons that should not be exposed, we came as 4 people, but went in 3 people >_<

 

The Comedy Club started off in Singapore with Jonathan Etherton, Singapore’s own Laugh Guru as the host, and its popularity grew consistently until Malaysians also wanted their own version of the Comedy Club! (Check out the official site here.) You know how things work. Singapore always get the nice stuff first :/ (But now we know that Singaporeans need more humour than us in their life).

 

The show started with some ‘foreplay’ from Jonathan.

 

The trouble with still photography during stand-up comedy is that the comedians are doing either this,

 

, this or this

 

…they could be telling the craziest jokes on earth, but who the hell knows? Comedians could be the funniest guys in the world, but if seen on photos, even my History teacher in school seems to be funnier than them.

 

So, moral of the story is, I need to bring a video camera next time. Haha.

 

This is Douglas Lim, our home grown boy!

 

I cannot believe that a Chinese dude, slightly overweight, looking like an ‘uncle’ with unmaintained hair…and resembles Kenny Sia, could make me laugh like I did that night. Stomach damn pain LOL.

 

Wait a minute, maybe you do need to be overweight, look like an ‘uncle’ with unmaintained hair to be funny. So those of you who wanna be comedians, it’s time to put on those kilos

The second comic was Greg Fleet, who apparently is the winner of countless awards at Edinburgh and Melbourne Comedy Fest.

 

He’s pretty funny as well, but he needs to stay off the cigs and crack. And start looking at the audience instead of at his feet all the time.

 

 

I rate this guy  LMAO !  

 

There was a minor confusion at the counter before we entered, and we didn’t have out tickets with us, which meant we couldn’t get our free drinks. The Zouk crew was quick to patch us up with some coupons though. Kudos to them!

 

 

And as expected, we met @Kruel of Bloggerunited.com with his loupor there!

 

The last comic is Hung Le, a Vietnamese who resides in Ozzy.

 

Now, he’s the last one of the 3 to make appearance. Not because he has the least hair, but because he was, quite frankly, the funniest.

 

You see his face also you know.

 

Douglas Lim may have got a LOL – LMAO – ROFL rating from me, but that’s because he could connect with the local audience, i.e. jokes on political scenes and people, and local languages. Some of the AngMo audience were clueless at those jokes.

 

Hung Le, however, masterfully delivered his work with complete emotions and expressions…

 

 

I really couldn’t take it anymore when he came to the Rice Cooker Pot story. Absolutely hilarious. I rate him

OMG – WTF – LOL – LMAO – ROFL   

 

 

Jonathan closed off the show with some Pillow Talk, and it’s time to Camho!

Remember in my last post, I said I was going to the Stuff Mag 5th Anni at Zouk?

 

 

My plan was to get in there, meet up with people whom I knew, maybe play some games and HOPEFULLY go home with some prizes *dreams of plasma TVs, Ipods, PS3*

 

And then I heard from Derek Yap @ Stuff Writer that the goodie bags were running out fast…and that was only 7.45! Guncheong-ness crept into my blood as I flew down the highway…so excited I almost cried thinking of what would happen if the goodie bag finish…

 

So as I reached and found my kaki…

Smashpop, BryanLyt, Botakai, Mojosh and Jason Mynjayz were waiting for me to finish my food enjoying a good time at NZ garden.

 

 

And after opening our goodie bag, we were shocked by the contents….so shocked until Smashpop ‘forgot’ to take it after makan.

 

 

 

 

Only Psychkin was excited with hers cos she found a set of earphones inside. The goodie bag packers must be guys la. Confirm.

It’s always nice to see hot girls jamming it like guys do.

 

 

 

This is Ean of Hitz. A funny guy by nature, who won’t stop teasing each contestant that came up on stage. He looks like a compressed version of a club bouncer.

 

Eventually things came to a slow, and it came to a point where I was feeling bored myself. And what do bloggers do when we’re bored? Action…!

So we decided to abandon Stuff and head on to a 2nd event. By now you’re probably asking : Stuff magazine’s supposed to have all the chicks right? Where did they all go to?

 

Sarah Lian is hot, definitely, but one hot chick doesn’t quite satisfy us guys, know what I mean?

 

Only when we reached Envie Club, at Changkat Bukit Bintang, when we found out where the hotties were.

The launch of Rebellz Season 2 at Envie Club. Season 1 was at Goddezz (Solaris) that I posted on my old blog.

 

This time, it was here, and I knew about it, but I thought i couldn’t make it. Initial plan was to be busy winning stuff at Zouk, but tak jadi ma.

Here’s where I met Aileng Miao again, a very cute girl with an even cuter voice. Wah she call me ‘Evo the ultimate event hopper cum baby’s ex-college mate.’ Need or not wei    Sorry Alvin I pinjam ur gf camho sekejap haha.

 

 

One thing i liked about the place was the LCD floor. It’s medium sized, or almost small (but Envie’s a small place so it’s suiting), but it is SO FLASHY. Damn nice I like.

I assure you I had no intention on grabbing a pic of those legs. If I knew who they belonged to I’d happily tag them in Facebook (and get to know the owner in the process). But hey, eyes on the floor ok?

Honestly, the models weren’t much to shout about, IMHO, but I think that’s the main intention of the designers. To bring out the dress that it stands out more than the model LOL.

 

I’m not exactly a ‘dress guy’, but I can say that this season’s products have a dash of elegance, while looking great for young wearers.

 

This is definitely more to shout about : The Rebellz designers Ju An (center) and Hui Jean (right).

 

 

But this….is probably the most to shout about…

 

 

The Emcee, of whom upon closer inspection, looked reeeal familiar. I know that sounds like a corny pickup line, but it’s not. Really.

 

 

Then I remembered seeing a picture of her as Miss Hypertune dunno which month.

It’s movie time again people!

 

Yes, it’s that time of the season again….free movie season! Advertlets is having their screening of The Proposal, starring Sandra Bullocks and Ryan Reynolds. Way to go guys!

 

And this time, it’s gona be at GSC, Tropicana City Mall, Damansara. It’s just at the intersection between LDP and Sprint Highway (on LDP, from Sunway direction, take a U-turn after KDU). I’m pretty interested to check out the new cinema…eat some Vietnamese Noodle at Pho Hoa and kepo around the place.

 

So, for this movie, I have to write a post on ‘What’s the worst way you can propose marriage to your partner?’

 

Hmm. How do you define worst? Worst Location? Worst Words? Worst Environment?
