Yesterday at Da Curve
It’s been a while since Psychkin and I had a proper dedicated date where she could have my undivided attention, no calls, no double dates, no special event or time and place. Just me and her living a happy-go-lucky Saturday, doing stuff that we used to do, just like long ago when we nothing but just neighbours.
That’s me in 2006, before I dropped the specs. And before the pimples xD
Those were the times where the only pose we had for the camera was a SMILE.
Before the times where we both started to adopt the poyo-pic methods.
When things become intertwined with external factors, when we forget why we got together, when we lose sight of what brought us together in the first place : I’m glad that it’s easy for us to hit ‘reset’ and revive moments of the past.
You know lah, those mushy smushy moments hehe.
We had lunch yesterday at this Waroeng Penyet at the Curve. This restoran’s located at the bridge between Ikano & the Curve and must have been here for super long time. I never seem to notice it thanks to an opposing force called Kim Gary .
What does PENYET mean anyway??
Apparently it means ‘flattened’. Most of their dishes are this-penyet, that-penyet, whatever-penyet. So their penyet dishes are flattened before frying.
I think the chick+chicken icons add to the cute factor..in fact the menu looks just like the wall poster above.
Surprisingly, there was no penyet in our order haha…!
Sup Soto Ayam Mihun, Satay Ayam, Goreng Ayam, Bandung Rojak. Are you wondering why these names don’t sound very Indonesian?
That’s because I forgot their names…LOL.
The Sup Soto Ayam Mihun was alright, Soto taste was strong enough.
Satay Ayam was OK. Just a little overfried and the gravy needed to be more KAW.
Ayam Goreng was ahhhh a little different. Grilled with a layet of honey on it, I liked how the taste absorbed nicely into the meat. It goes very well with the black sauce that comes with it. If you’re ready to overlook the black carbon stuck all over it then this is quite recommendable.
The Bandung Rojak tasted somewhat 50-60% like Indian Pasembor..the sauce needs to be more KAW! More groundnuts!
I realize I don’t sound like a food connoisseur at all hahahaha.
So that’s it for Waroeng Penyet. It wasn’t as impressive as their number of customers…crowded to the max. We got the last table just in front of the toilet lol.
And had to wait for dunno how many customers before our turn -_-
Then we caught the latest movie on za block!
Sequel to the rather successful Night at the Museum, it’s about how the museum exhibits were transferred to another musuem, where there is a sad farewell to the ‘family’ at the museum.
However, all hell breaks loose when lil Capuchan monkey steals the Akhmenrah tablet and smuggles it along to the much bigger Smithsonian museum, where the tyrant Kahmenrah resides. Imagine all the exhibits coming to life and how Larry Daley has to beat his way through the whole place.
Gosh I can remember those names. How come ah? -_-
I loved the torchlight-fight-sword scenes. Sounding almost as ridiculous as Malaysian army fighting the US military, it’s about how small but skillful wins over big but clunky giants.
The show somewhat lacks the lustre of the first instalment, but I suppose that’s how sequels go. If they don’t hit 150% of the first show, it’s a Fail.
One thing saved the show though.
Amy Adams, who plays the valiant, adventure-loving Amelia Earhart who was the first female to cross the Atlantic despite having to fly an obsolete-technology airplane.
And my my, has she got a rawkin hot butt. Larry Daley looks hungry for it.
Further ‘investigation’ on Amy reveals…
And…

Whatever show this is, it’s gona be next on my download list <3
Finally, shopping………! *squeals like a pondan*
It’s a common reaction, people. When shopaholic girlfriend Psychkin sees this.
Damn, how do they sell these things so cheap?
Do you get the feeling of getting ripped off for buying them at regular prices? I feel it man, even though it’s not me wearing these things >_<
Very gingerly, I checked out these ornaments…
They look like cookies more than anything else. How can anyone wear cookies on their ears?? Sigh, some things, I’ll never know.
Cheers!

LikeDislikeI LIKE your post ! Eh some typo wei. LOL.
The cookies on our ears? Well, if a guy wonders how their girl can put up, and it makes you think, that is all what it takes.
Girls wear them to get their guy’s attention, in whatever means they can. And it is really sweet. =D
